What’s the difference between Campaigns and Events?

Campaigns and Events represent different stages of the Gigstarters lifecycle.

Campaigns are gigs that are still working towards their ticket goal.

During the Campaign stage:

  • Supporters can make bookings.
  • Payments are not yet collected.
  • The ticket goal has not yet been reached.
  • The gig has not yet been confirmed.

Once a Campaign reaches its ticket goal, it becomes a confirmed Event.

During the Event stage:

  • Supporter payments are processed.
  • Tickets are issued.
  • New ticket purchases can be made immediately.
  • The event proceeds towards delivery.

Your dashboard separates Campaigns and Events so you can easily distinguish between gigs that are still validating demand and gigs that have already been confirmed.
