Step-by-step guides to help you create and manage your gigs
Venue Setup
The venue is where your event will take place if it confirms.
You don’t always need every venue detail finalised before launching your campaign, but you should have a realistic plan for how the event will be delivered if it confirms.
If demand is uncertain, flexibility is often better than committing too early.
A good venue strategy may involve:
- Starting with a smaller venue
- Leaving room to scale upward
- Avoiding large upfront commitments too early
Supporters are generally understanding when an event moves to a larger or better venue because of strong demand. Downsizing after launch, however, can create disappointment and reduce confidence.
If your venue is still being finalised, you may choose to list a general area or venue type initially, provided the final venue remains consistent with what supporters can reasonably expect.
For example:
- Bar at Clark Quay
- Venue along Orchard Road
- Studio near Bugis MRT station
- Café in Newton-Novena
Once your venue is confirmed, update your event details promptly so supporters have the most accurate information available.
The key is to be realistic and transparent. Your venue strategy should support both the experience you’re promising and the audience you’re hoping to attract.
