Step-by-step guides to help you create and manage your gigs
Managing Inventory
Inventory determines how many tickets you can sell and how availability is managed throughout your campaign and event.
Choosing the right inventory approach early can help you avoid overselling, simplify event operations and give you greater control over how different ticket types are released.
Gigstarters allows you to manage ticket availability in two ways. The approach you choose should reflect how you plan to run your event.
Limiting Quantity By Ticket Type
Set a maximum quantity for each ticket type.
Each ticket type will sell out according to its own allocation. This approach gives you greater control over how many tickets are available at different pricing tiers or access levels.
For example, you might choose to release:
- 50 Early Bird tickets
- 100 General Admission tickets
- 20 VIP tickets
This option works well when different ticket categories provide different experiences or pricing strategies.
Limit Quantity By Venue Capacity
Set a single attendance limit based on your overall venue capacity.
All ticket types share this limit, and sales will automatically stop once the total capacity has been reached.
This option works best when:
- All attendees share the same space
- Ticket types don’t require separate allocations
- You want a simpler setup with fewer inventory decisions
If your event structure is straightforward, venue-capacity inventory is often the easiest approach to manage.
Key takeaway:
If different ticket types serve different audiences or experiences, individual ticket limits may give you more flexibility. If all tickets draw from the same overall attendance capacity, a venue-based approach is often simpler to manage.
