What Happens If Your Campaign Ends Without Confirmation?
If your campaign reaches its end date without meeting its ticket goal, the campaign will end without confirming.
While this can feel disappointing, it is also one of the reasons Gigstarters exists. The campaign model allows organisers to test demand before fully committing to an event.
When a campaign ends without confirmation:
- The event does not proceed.
- Supporters are not charged.
- No tickets are issued.
- No organiser payout is created.
- The campaign moves into Ended status on your dashboard.
Supporters who reserved tickets during the campaign will be informed that the event did not confirm. Since payments are only processed after confirmation, there is no refund process required.
An unconfirmed campaign does not necessarily mean your event idea wasn’t viable. Sometimes the challenge lies in timing, audience reach, promotion strategy or setting a ticket goal that was difficult to achieve within the campaign period.
Many organisers use what they learn from one campaign to build stronger campaigns in the future.
Before moving on, take some time to review how your campaign performed and identify areas that could be improved.
Key takeaway:
An unconfirmed campaign is information, not failure. Use it to better understand your audience and refine your approach for the next launch.
