Understanding How Gigstarters Works

Traditional event planning often requires organisers to commit to venues, suppliers and operational costs long before knowing whether enough people actually want to attend.

Gigstarters takes a different approach.

Instead of committing to an event upfront and hoping ticket sales follow later, organisers first launch a campaign to measure demand.

During this stage, supporters can reserve tickets to demonstrate interest in the event.

If the campaign reaches its ticket goal:

  • The event automatically confirms.
  • Supporter payments are processed.
  • Ticket sales continue until the event date or until tickets sell out.

If the campaign ends without reaching its ticket goal:

  • The event does not proceed.
  • Supporters are not charged.
  • No organiser payout is created.

This approach allows organisers to make decisions based on actual audience demand rather than assumptions about what people may want.

Key takeaway:

Gigstarters helps organisers confirm demand before committing to running an event.
