Gigstarters respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal data responsibly, transparently and in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”) and other applicable laws.
This Privacy Policy explains how Gigstarters collects, uses, discloses, stores and otherwise handles your personal data when you access or use our website, platform and related services (collectively, the “Platform”).
Whether you are browsing the Platform, creating a Gigstarters Account, supporting a Campaign, purchasing tickets, organising an Event or otherwise interacting with Gigstarters, we want you to understand what personal data we collect, why we collect it and how we protect it.
Gigstarters collects, uses and discloses personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012, including where consent has been provided, where consent may be deemed under applicable law or where another legal basis under the PDPA applies.
Gigstarters does not sell your personal data to third parties.
By using the Platform or providing your personal data to Gigstarters, you acknowledge that your personal data may be collected, used and disclosed as described in this Privacy Policy and in accordance with applicable laws.
2. Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to personal data collected through the Gigstarters Platform and related services, including when you:
- visit or browse the Platform;
- create or manage a Gigstarters Account;
- support a Campaign;
- purchase tickets or Add-Ons;
- organise or manage Campaigns and Events;
- communicate with Gigstarters; or
- otherwise interact with the Platform or services.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Platform, including visitors, supporters, ticket buyers, attendees and organisers.
This Privacy Policy applies only to personal data collected, used or disclosed by Gigstarters in connection with the operation of the Platform. It does not apply to information that users voluntarily choose to make publicly available through Campaigns, Events or other public features of the Platform, nor does it govern the independent privacy practices of Organisers or other third parties, except as expressly described in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, applications or services that may be linked from the Platform or operated independently by third parties. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies, and Gigstarters is not responsible for their privacy practices.
3. The Personal Data We Collect
Our aim is to collect only the personal data reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, provide our services and fulfil our legal obligations.
Depending on how you use the Platform, we may collect different types of personal data, including:
Account Information
Information you provide when creating or managing a Gigstarters Account, such as your name, email address, contact details, account credentials and other profile information.
Booking and Event Information
Information relating to Campaigns you support, Events you organise or attend, ticket purchases, bookings, Add-Ons, Rewards, booking history and other information associated with your use of the Platform.
Payment-Related Information
Information required to facilitate payments, refunds, payment authorisations and organiser payouts.
Gigstarters does not store your complete payment card details. Payment information is processed by trusted third-party payment service providers in accordance with their own privacy and security standards.
Communications
Information contained in your communications with Gigstarters, including enquiries, feedback, customer support requests and other correspondence.
Technical Information
Information generated through your use of the Platform, including device information, browser type, IP address, login activity and other technical information reasonably necessary to operate, maintain and secure the Platform.
Information You Choose to Provide
Any additional personal data you voluntarily submit through the Platform, including profile information, feedback, survey responses or other content you choose to provide.
You are responsible for ensuring that any personal data you provide to Gigstarters is accurate, complete and up to date.
4. How We Collect Your Personal Data
We may collect your personal data in a number of ways, including when you:
- create or update your Gigstarters Account;
- support a Campaign or purchase tickets;
- organise or manage Campaigns or Events;
- communicate with us through email, contact forms or other channels;
- participate in surveys, promotions or other activities offered through the Platform;
- access or use the Platform; or
- otherwise provide information to us voluntarily.
We may also receive personal data from trusted third parties where reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, facilitate payments, verify transactions, comply with legal obligations or provide our services.
Where you provide us with personal data relating to another individual, you represent that you have the necessary authority or consent to do so and that the individual has been informed of the purposes for which their personal data is being provided.
You are responsible for ensuring that the personal data you provide to Gigstarters is accurate, complete and up to date and for notifying us of any changes where necessary.
Where certain personal data is reasonably required to provide the Platform or fulfil our contractual or legal obligations, your failure to provide such information may prevent Gigstarters from providing some or all of our services.
5. How We Use Your Personal Data
Gigstarters uses personal data only where reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, provide our services and fulfil our legal and business obligations.
Depending on how you interact with the Platform, we may use your personal data to:
- create, manage and secure your Gigstarters Account;
- process Campaign support, ticket purchases, Add-On purchases and other transactions;
- facilitate payment authorisations, payment collection, refunds and organiser payouts;
- provide tickets, booking confirmations and other account-related information;
- administer Campaigns, Events and the Supporter Rewards Programme;
- communicate with you regarding your account, bookings, Campaigns, Events and customer support enquiries;
- verify your identity where reasonably necessary to protect the security and integrity of the Platform;
- detect, investigate and prevent fraud, unauthorised activity or other misuse of the Platform;
- improve, maintain and develop the Platform, including diagnosing technical issues and enhancing user experience;
- comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders or requests from regulatory authorities;
- establish, exercise or defend legal rights; and
- send marketing or promotional communications where you have requested them, consented to receive them or where otherwise permitted under applicable law.
Where reasonably practicable, Gigstarters will only collect and use personal data that is relevant and necessary for these purposes.
Gigstarters may create aggregated or anonymised information that does not identify any individual. Such information may be used for analytics, reporting, business planning, improving the Platform or other lawful business purposes.
Gigstarters may also use personal data to monitor, investigate and improve the security, availability and performance of the Platform, including diagnosing technical issues, testing new features and maintaining business continuity.
6. When We Share Your Personal Data
Gigstarters does not sell your personal data to third parties.
We may disclose personal data only where reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, provide our services, comply with legal obligations or protect our legitimate interests.
Organisers
Where you support a Campaign, purchase tickets or register for an Event, Gigstarters may share personal data with the relevant Organiser where reasonably necessary to administer the Campaign or Event.
This may include information reasonably required to:
- verify your booking or ticket;
- communicate regarding your booking, Campaign or Event;
- administer attendance;
- respond to enquiries relating to the Campaign or Event; or
- comply with applicable legal or regulatory obligations.
Organisers are independently responsible for the personal data they receive through the Platform and are expected to handle such information in accordance with applicable laws.
Once personal data has been disclosed to an Organiser for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, the Organiser becomes independently responsible for its own collection, use and disclosure of that personal data in accordance with applicable laws.
Gigstarters does not permit Organisers to use personal data obtained through the Platform for purposes unrelated to the administration of their Campaigns or Events or otherwise permitted by applicable law.
Service Providers
Gigstarters may disclose personal data to trusted third-party service providers that assist us in operating the Platform.
These service providers may include providers of:
- payment processing;
- cloud hosting and technical infrastructure;
- customer communications;
- fraud prevention and security;
- customer support; and
- other services reasonably necessary for the operation of the Platform.
These service providers are authorised to use personal data only for the purposes of providing services to Gigstarters or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.
Legal and Regulatory Requirements
Gigstarters may disclose personal data where we reasonably believe such disclosure is necessary to:
- comply with applicable laws or legal obligations;
- respond to lawful requests from government authorities, regulators or law enforcement agencies;
- enforce our Terms of Use or other Platform policies;
- investigate suspected fraud, security incidents or unlawful activity; or
- protect the rights, property, safety or security of Gigstarters, our users or other persons.
Business Transactions
If Gigstarters undergoes a merger, acquisition, corporate restructuring, financing, sale of assets or similar business transaction, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements.
7. Payment Information
Payments made through the Platform are processed by trusted third-party payment service providers.
Gigstarters does not store your complete payment card details.
Payment-related information is collected and processed by the relevant payment service provider in accordance with its own privacy and security practices.
Gigstarters may receive limited payment-related information, such as payment status, transaction references or other information reasonably necessary to administer bookings, facilitate refunds, investigate payment issues and maintain accurate transaction records.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Gigstarters uses strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies where required for the operation of the Platform.
These technologies help us to:
- maintain secure user sessions;
- authenticate users;
- support bookings and ticket purchases;
- protect the security and integrity of the Platform; and
- provide other essential Platform functionality.
Gigstarters does not currently use cookies for advertising, behavioural tracking or marketing purposes.
Disabling strictly necessary cookies through your browser settings may affect the availability or functionality of certain parts of the Platform.
9. Protecting Your Personal Data
Gigstarters takes reasonable administrative, physical and technical measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks.
While we take reasonable steps to safeguard personal data, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their Gigstarters Account credentials and notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorised access to their account.
10. Data Retention
Gigstarters retains personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with applicable legal or regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, enforce our legal rights or maintain appropriate business records.
When personal data is no longer required for these purposes, we will take reasonable steps to securely delete, anonymise or otherwise dispose of it in accordance with applicable laws and our internal retention practices.
11. International Transfers of Personal Data
Gigstarters may engage trusted service providers whose systems or infrastructure are located outside Singapore.
As a result, your personal data may be transferred to, processed or stored outside Singapore where reasonably necessary to provide the Platform and related services.
Where personal data is transferred outside Singapore, Gigstarters will take reasonable steps to ensure that recipients provide a standard of protection comparable to that required under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012, including through contractual obligations, industry-standard security measures or other appropriate safeguards where applicable.
12. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable laws, you may request to:
- access personal data that Gigstarters holds about you;
- correct or update inaccurate or incomplete personal data;
- withdraw your consent to the collection, use or disclosure of your personal data where such consent has previously been provided; or
- enquire about how Gigstarters handles your personal data.
Requests may be subject to identity verification and any applicable legal or administrative requirements.
Please note that withdrawing your consent or requesting the deletion of certain personal data may affect our ability to continue providing some or all of the Platform’s services to you. In some circumstances, Gigstarters may also be required or permitted by law to retain certain personal data despite such requests.
13. Children’s Privacy
The Platform is not intended for individuals who are unable to enter into legally binding agreements under applicable laws without the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
Where personal data relating to a minor is provided to Gigstarters, the parent or legal guardian is responsible for ensuring that such collection, use and disclosure is authorised in accordance with applicable laws.
If Gigstarters becomes aware that personal data has been collected in circumstances inconsistent with applicable laws, we may take reasonable steps to delete or restrict access to that information where appropriate.

Gigstarters may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, technology, legal obligations or business operations.
Where appropriate, we will publish the updated Privacy Policy on the Platform together with its effective date.
Your continued use of the Platform after the updated Privacy Policy takes effect constitutes your acknowledgement of the revised Privacy Policy.
